A Recipe

Naradaa during his travels has come across many different kinds of foods. Some of the interesting ones are banana-paratha, prawns-dosa, papaya-halwa etc. These have become popular especially among Keralites staying in other states or other countries where the restaurants and customers are more ready to try out their creative talents.

Recently Naradaa came across a couple of good recipes. For the benefits of readers Naradaa is giving below one of them.

Chaipayasam: This is a variation of Paalpayasam (Kheer, a sweet dish) with tea as one of the ingredients. It is very popular in many places and people take it in mornings (solo), along with breakfast, at 11 am break, at 4 pm etc. In most of these places you may just ask for Chai and you get it – unless you specify the kind of chai you want.

Ingredients for making one cup chaipayasam

Tea leaves, as you get in packets for making tea – quarter teaspoon.(Don’t use                                      dipping tea bags. You are likely to dip it for more time by mistake and then the whole taste will be different.)

Full cream Milk  - One and half cups

Sugar – Three tablespoons

Method of Preparation: Boil milk and sugar together until the quatity become one cup. Pour it into a cup. Add the quarter teaspoon of tea powder into this and stir mildly. Filter it and consume it either hot or cold.
